GGL-Subtilisin

Part Number: 7547087

Derivatives of gly-gly-leu are substrates of the proteolytic enzyme subtilisin. Subtilisin was originally identified as a serine proteinase produced by the organism Bacillus subtilis. Several mammalian enzymes homologous to subtilisin have been identified. A physiological role of one of these enzymes may be to convert proinsulin into insulin.
Alternative enzyme nomenclature: EC 3.4.21.62
