GPLGP-Collagenase

Part Number: 7547092

Gly-pro-leu-gly-pro-Rho110 is a substrate for the collagenase group of proteolytic enzymes. Collagenases are enzymes that digest the collagens, macromolecules that form highly organized structures in connective tissue and extracellular matrix. Studies have shown that collagenases may play a role in the degradation of the extracellular matrix during cell migration. The collagenases are Zn2+ dependent metalloenzymes. Studies of hydrolysis of fluorescent derivatives of GPLGP have shown that a collagenase-like peptidase cleaves the substrate at the peptide bond between leucine and glycine.
