VK-Cathepsin

Part Number: 7547106

Val-lys-Rho110 has been identified as a substrate of cathepsin D and cathepsin B by a screen of many different dipeptide derivatives. Cathepsin D is a lysosomal aspartic proteinase that is released by macrophages and connective tissue cells under inflammatory conditions. Cathepsin D has been studied in breast tissue. Cathepsin B is a lysosomal cysteine endopeptidase that may play a role in the processing of insulin. Cathepsin B may also contribute to cell migration.
