G0 cell sorting

Discrimination of G0 lymphocytes from the cells progressing through
the cycle can be accomplished based on the differences in rhodamine
123 uptake combined with light scatter (Proc. Natl Acad. Sci USA
78:2383, 1981). Rhodamine 123 is not much toxic when the cells are
allowed to subsequently grow in its absence, and it does not affect
their cloning efficiency (Cancer Res.,42: 79, 1982).
