I have a question to anyone who knows about thymic lymphomas.
We are analyzing some transgenic mice that develop a thymus 10 to 20 times
bigger than the non-transgenic littermate. The transgen is supossed to be
expressed only in epithelial cells. But, when we analyzed the enormous
thymus we found that the 95% of cells were CD4+ and Thy-1* (we expect a
clear increase in thymic epithelial-like cells). Moreover, those T cells
were bigger and more complex (about 5-10 times in a linear FS vs SSC
dot-plot). Thus, my question is:
Does anybody know if this increase in size and complexity is a parameter of
any thymic disease?
