Peter,

False! Windows NT is its own operating system and does not require
DOS, like Win3.1 does. It runs OK, and most but not all Win3.1
programs work with it (Molecular Dynamics has ported their ImageQuant
phosphorimager software to it for example). Most people I know think
of it as a proprietary Unix clone with a Windows interface.
