Intuitive Software You Can See

CyCLOPS software is a new and powerful software package for instrument control, data acquisition, and data analysis. It is a native 32-bit application optimized for running under Windows 95/NT.

Instrument Control

CyCLOPS takes full advantage of Windows NT to control all sorting parameters of the MoFlo. Because of the two-way communications link, any change made on the MoFlo console is transferred to the computer and vice versa. The new settings may then be saved as a separate protocol. All sort settings, including high-speed non-rectangular sort gates, are stored in easily accessible user protocols so that instrument setup is simple and fast.

Data Acquisition

To keep up with the speed of the MoFlo, a high-speed data link has been implemented. A separate communications line handles instrument control so as not to interfere or slow down direct data transfer into the computer memory. Furthermore, all data is stored in its raw, uncompensated form (although live data may be displayed in compensated or uncompensated format)! This means that stored data may be recompensated as often as a researcher would like to verify the processed results.

Data Analysis

By utilizing Windows 95/NT, all the tools (shortcuts, long file names, toolbars, etc.) and links to other applications (spreadsheet, word processor, graphics, etc.) are now available for use when analyzing flow data or preparing reports. In addition, CyCLOPS has been developed with features most needed by busy researchers, such as CytoGator,ª a logical file management scheme that makes storing and finding data simple. It also includes links for easy data sharing, both within an organization and via the Internet.
