ANTI-MOUSE CD18, CLONE GAME-46

SPECIFICITY

The GAME-46 antibody reacts with the common beta2 subunit of LFA-1 (CD11a/CD18, alphaLbeta2 integrin), Mac-1 (CD11b/CD18, alphaMbeta2 integrin), and gp150, 95 (CD11c/CD18, alphaXbeta2 integrin).(1) Its expression is limited to leukocytes, where it is widely distributed in consort with each of the three integrin alpha subunits (CD11a, CD11b, and CD11c).(2) The beta2 integrins are important mediators of leukocyte-endothelium interactions.(3) It has been reported that GAME-46 antibody blocks in vitro adhesion of LFA-1-expressing cells to the ligands ICAM-1, ICAM-2 and ICAM-3 and of Mac-1-expressing cells to ICAM-1, C3bi, and fibrinogen.(1)

USAGE

The antibody has been tested by immunofluorescent staining (< 1 µg/million cells) with flow cytometric analysis to assure specificity and reactivity. Other reported applications include immunoprecipitation,(1) blocking of CD18-mediated cell-adhesion functions,(1) and immunohistochemical staining of acetone-fixed frozen sections.(4) Since applications vary, each investigator must determine dilutions appropriate for individual use.
