The course was conducted in early October in San Francisco and London. PROGRAM Description The course covered the basics of latex and magnetic particle-based diagnostic test development from R & D through manufacturing and production control. The broadly applicable technology is used in human healthcare screening tests and assays, veterinary and agricultural tests, and for assaying toxic chemicals in foods, water, and the general environment. Practical details of latex preparation, formulation, properties, characterization and processing were given. The course provided a solid information base for those involved in this rapidly growing and evolving technology.
